The Scarred Women

After working in black and white for so long on the Warrior Women series, I wanted to create a colourful collection of women.

These women represent those of us with physical, mental and emotional scars. Women glue, stitch and duct tape themselves back together.

We stand up and carry on.

Brigid was born and raised in Blind River Ontario. She completed her post secondary education in the north, at both Laurentian and Lakehead University. Brigid has always enjoyed creating art. She now lives in Southern Ontario and works as a teacher of the blind and partially sighted. Brigid's work is deeply personal and emotional.
